Leapmotor B05 Production Plan Deepens Its European Push

Leapmotor plans to build the B05 in Spain, adding a second model to its Zaragoza programme. The next test is turning that commitment into a clear production timetable.

Leapmotor International announced on October 19 that it plans to produce the B05 at Stellantis’ Zaragoza plant. It would follow the B10, whose production at the same facility was officially inaugurated on October 16.

The distinction matters: the B10 has reached the production milestone; the B05 is the next planned addition. The latest announcement does not give a B05 production start date or output target.

Why Zaragoza matters to Leapmotor

This is an established car factory. Stellantis’ October 16 announcement says Zaragoza also produces the Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208 and Lancia Ypsilon, and attributes the plant’s selection to its quality, available capacity and industrial expertise.

That gives the partnership a practical foundation. Leapmotor contributes vehicle technology and product development, while Stellantis brings an existing manufacturing operation. The B10 launch provides the immediate background to the B05 decision, rather than proof that the second model is already leaving the line.

Our reading is that a second model would make this a more substantial European manufacturing programme. It would also give readers a better way to assess the partnership: follow what the factory actually builds, and when, alongside what the companies announce.

What the B05 announcement leaves open

The release does not establish a price reduction, a change in customer delivery times or the specification of Spanish-built cars. Those details matter more to a buyer comparing offers than the factory address alone.

Local production could support the brand’s European ambitions, but it does not by itself demonstrate lower ownership costs or better after-sales service. Those need separate evidence. For now, buyers should check the terms of the actual car on offer rather than assume a future production plan changes today’s order.

The next milestone is a timetable

For Woom News, the useful follow-up will be a dated production launch, followed by confirmed market and delivery details. Until then, Zaragoza is a significant commitment with an important part of the execution still ahead.
