Lamborghini chose the roar of its home crowd for its latest reveal. At the second edition of the Lamborghini Arena gathering at Imola, Sant’Agata unveiled the Fenomeno Roadster — an open-top version of its limited-series Fenomeno hypercar, and officially the most powerful roofless Lamborghini ever built.
Production will be almost absurdly exclusive. While the Fenomeno coupe is capped at 29 examples, the Roadster will be limited to just 15 units worldwide. Every one is already spoken for, as is customary with Lamborghini’s few-off program, which previously gave us cars like the Centenario and the Sian.
The Most Powerful Open-Top Bull
The Roadster carries over the coupe’s monstrous hybrid powertrain: the most potent V12 in Lamborghini’s history, a naturally aspirated unit producing a record 835 CV on its own, paired with three electric motors that contribute a further 245 CV. Combined output stands at 1,080 CV (roughly 1,065 horsepower), enough for a 0-60 mph sprint in about 2.4 seconds and a top speed beyond 217 mph — all with nothing between occupants and the V12 soundtrack but open sky.
The body is crafted entirely from carbon fiber, from the lightweight monocoque to every exterior panel. Design-wise, the Fenomeno family debuts an evolved interpretation of Lamborghini’s signature “Y” light motif, along with a dramatic rear diffuser and a hexagonal triple-exhaust arrangement the company says was inspired by aerospace engineering.
Feel Like a Pilot
Inside, Lamborghini leans into its “Feel like a pilot” philosophy. The driver faces a racing-style steering wheel and a trio of digital displays that replace most physical switchgear, creating a stripped-back, fighter-jet cockpit atmosphere. The Fenomeno line was created in part to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Centro Stile, Lamborghini’s in-house design studio, and the Roadster serves as a rolling preview of the brand’s future design language.
The reveal caps a busy season for Lamborghini, which is also bringing an ultra-high-performance Urus SE Performante variant and its hybrid supercars to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. The message from Sant’Agata is clear: even as the industry wobbles on electrification, Lamborghini’s flagship V12 — now electrified but still naturally aspirated — is alive, well, and louder than ever.
For the 15 collectors on the list, the Fenomeno Roadster is less a car purchase than an appreciation event. For everyone else, it’s a signpost of where the raging bull is headed next.
